WhatsApp Cloud API

Your WhatsApp evolves
to Cloud API

Meta's official infrastructure underneath your account, giving you greater stability, security, and official backing. Your WeSpeak operation stays exactly as it is — only the underlying technology changes.

Official Meta connection Continuity with zero data loss Same team, same platform Greater stability and backing
How it works

Your number leaves the phone and moves to the cloud.

WhatsApp Cloud API is Meta's official platform that connects your WhatsApp number directly to the cloud — no phone required — so it can be operated from systems like WeSpeak.

×Before · QR connection

It crashes. It disconnects. One user at a time.

Now · Cloud API + WeSpeak

Always online. Multiple users. AI Assistant 24/7.

01

No phone dependency

The number lives in Meta's cloud. It never turns off, never disconnects.

02

Multiple users at once

Your whole team works from WeSpeak, in parallel, with assignments.

03

Everything measurable

Every conversation logged. Real sales and service metrics.

Why Cloud API

A technical decision to protect your sales channel.

01

QR is informal and unofficial

QR connections are not a product supported by Meta. They can drop or be restricted without notice, leaving your channel down at any moment.

02

Cloud API is the official infrastructure

Stable, secure, and backed by Meta. No risk of spontaneous disconnections. The platform serious WhatsApp channels are built on.

03

We protect you going forward

Meta keeps restricting unofficial connections. Migrating now — before it becomes mandatory — secures your operational continuity and unlocks new capabilities like official templates.

Structural
migration

It's an infrastructure upgrade — it doesn't change your daily operation, your WeSpeak platform, or your history. Only the technology connecting your number to WeSpeak changes.

Windows and templates

How the guest dialog works.

0 h

The guest messages you

A 24-hour window opens in which you can reply freely from WeSpeak, with no content restrictions. Every new message from the guest resets the clock — as long as the conversation stays active, the window doesn't close.

24 h+

The window closes

If 24 h pass since the guest's last message, you need a Meta-approved template (utility or marketing) to message them again. They're sent from WeSpeak.

Example: a guest asked yesterday and never wrote back. Today you want to follow up: you send a template ("Hi! Still interested in your booking?"). If they reply, the 24 h window opens again and you chat normally.

72 h free

Does the conversation start from a Meta ad?

When the guest contacts you through a Click-to-WhatsApp ad (Facebook or Instagram), the conversation is 100% free for 72 hours: during that period you pay for none of the messages you send. Unlike the 24 h window, these 72 h are fixed — they don't reset with each message. The more traffic arrives from ads, the lower your Meta bill. The only requirement is replying within the first 24 h — with WeSpeak's assistant the reply is instant, so it takes care of itself.

Type 01 · Utility

Informational

Booking confirmations, check-in, instructions. They'd exist even if you weren't selling anything. Cheaper.

Type 02 · Marketing

Promotional

Offers, discounts, campaigns. They aim to sell or attract. More expensive.

Rule of thumb

Would the message exist even if you weren't selling anything? UTILITY.
Does it aim to sell or promote? MARKETING.

Meta costs

Clear, controlled costs, straight from Meta.

What does Meta charge?

  • Starting October 1, 2026, Meta charges for each message you send — except in conversations that arrive through Meta ads, free for 72 hours. Messages you receive are always free.
  • The price depends on the guest's phone-number country and the message type (service, utility, or marketing).
  • If you're coming from a QR connection, this cost is new to you: with QR you paid no direct Meta costs. It's the cost of using the official infrastructure.
  • It's charged by Meta to your account — it is not a WeSpeak charge.

How is it paid?

  • You set up a payment method in Meta (card, etc.).
  • You pay Meta's direct rates — WeSpeak adds no surcharge on messages.
  • You can enable an automatic monthly debit based on usage.
  • You can download invoices from Meta for your accounting.
  • We help you estimate it based on your operation volume.

How we migrate you to WeSpeak

Two ways to connect your number. You choose.

A
Recommended

A new number dedicated to WeSpeak

Your current number stays as an operational backup. WeSpeak runs on a dedicated line.

  1. You get a new number — a basic prepaid line, approx. 5–10 USD every 3 months.
  2. It connects to WeSpeak via Cloud API — dedicated exclusively to the platform.
  3. Your current number stays as backup — it keeps working in WhatsApp Business as it does today.
  4. We migrate all your contacts — a behind-the-scenes transfer (24–48 h) while you keep operating normally.

What you keep

  • Your WeSpeak platform intact: conversations, metrics, contacts, and settings.
  • Your current phone active and known to your guests — if anything fails, you're never without a channel.
  • Full flexibility going forward: your original number is never compromised.

Why do we recommend it? Meta restricts new numbers far less often than migrated ones — lower blocking risk — and your original number remains as a backup during and after the migration.

B
Alternative

Migrate your current number

If you prefer to keep the same number, it's technically possible — with conditions to keep in mind.

  1. Your number is transferred from QR to Cloud API — it starts running on Meta's official infrastructure.
  2. WeSpeak operates directly on that number — no additional line needed.
  3. We migrate your contacts to WeSpeak — a behind-the-scenes transfer (24–48 h); everything is preserved on the platform.

What to keep in mind

  • Existing guests must restart the chat: anyone with your number saved will see the account without WhatsApp until they start a new chat (via a wa.me link, a button on your website, or a QR code). It depends on each contact.
  • WhatsApp groups: you lose the groups tied to that number.
  • Meta restrictions: Meta may restrict the number during or after migration (low risk, but it exists).
  • Phone history becomes inaccessible (not WeSpeak's): chats in the phone app are no longer accessible from there. Your full WeSpeak history stays intact.

When does it make sense? Hotels that prefer not to manage two separate numbers and accept the associated risks — with no operational backup during the migration.

Before starting: your business must be verified with Meta. We guide you through the process (1–3 days). Without prior verification, Meta may restrict the account and delay the migration by up to a week.

Frequently asked questions

Everything hotels usually ask us about Cloud API.

Migration

The technical step of moving the number to the API takes 30 to 40 minutes once your business is verified with Meta. The contacts transfer can take up to 24–48 additional hours — during that time you keep operating normally on the platform. We coordinate every stage with you to minimize impact.

Yes, it's mandatory. Meta business verification is a free 1–3 day process where you upload your company's documentation and Meta validates it. Without it, Meta restricts the account when you try to migrate and the process takes an extra week. We share a step-by-step video of the procedure and accompany you through the whole thing.

Because the QR connection is informal and unofficial — it can drop or be restricted by Meta without notice, leaving your sales channel down. Cloud API is Meta's official infrastructure, stable and backed. We migrate all our clients to protect them going forward and give them better stability and new capabilities like officially approved templates.

The phone's chats are not moved into WeSpeak. In Option A they stay on your phone as always; in Option B they're no longer accessible from the app. What we do bring into WeSpeak is your contacts: we extract them from the phone's WhatsApp with a third-party tool (it takes 24–48 h and doesn't interrupt your operation). And if you already use WeSpeak, everything on the platform stays intact.

Your number, your control

Your number always belongs to you — you manage it yourself from your Meta account, in both options. In Option A it isn't touched: it stays intact in WhatsApp Business, also serving as an operational backup during the migration. In Option B it's migrated to Cloud API; ownership remains yours, but it no longer lives on the phone. We recommend Option A because it preserves your original channel and guarantees continuity.

Yes, in any scenario. In Option A you simply disconnect the new number from WeSpeak and continue with your original number intact. In Option B we de-migrate the API and the number returns to WhatsApp Business — the process is simple and managed from your Meta Business account; if you prefer, we assist you or do it for you. In both cases you can also connect your number to another platform without going through us. We can export the conversations you have in WeSpeak — format and timing are coordinated at departure.

In Option A, yes, with no changes — your current number keeps working exactly as before on the phone, as a backup channel. In Option B, that specific number is no longer operated from the phone app: everything goes through WeSpeak.

Day to day

When the guest writes, a 24-hour window opens for you to reply freely — and every new message from them resets the clock, so the window doesn't close while the conversation stays active. If 24 h pass since their last message, you need a Meta-approved template to resume the conversation. And if the conversation started from a Meta ad (Click-to-WhatsApp), it's free for 72 hours: during that period you pay for none of the messages you send (these 72 h are fixed — they don't reset with each message). The 24 h window remains in place under the new billing model: it defines what you can send; the per-message cost (starting October 1, 2026) applies separately.

Starting October 1, 2026, Meta charges for each message you send — the ones you receive are always free. The price depends on the guest's phone-number country and the message type. Meta bills it to your account: it is not a WeSpeak charge. You can estimate your cost with the WhatsApp calculator.

Yes — and it's one of Cloud API's advantages. With approved marketing templates you can send segmented campaigns from WeSpeak Campaigns — something the QR connection doesn't allow. Each send is billed at the marketing rate of the guest's country; you can estimate the cost with the WhatsApp calculator.

It works the same as always. And if someone on your team replies from WeSpeak, the AI Assistant pauses automatically for a configurable period, so they can continue the conversation manually without interference.

Nothing significant. Your team keeps working in WeSpeak with the same interface they already know — the Cloud API migration is an infrastructure change, not an operational one. The only noticeable differences are better connection stability and the ability to use officially approved Meta templates.

No. For the guest it's the same WhatsApp as always: they message your number, see your name and profile, and chat normally. What they do tend to notice is that you reply faster and at any hour — the connection is more stable and the assistant is on 24/7.

Security and verification

The main factor is having your business verified with Meta: with verification done, the blocking risk is low in either option. Without prior verification, Meta may restrict the account — especially when migrating a number from WhatsApp Business. Option A (new number) reduces the risk even further because it starts with a clean profile in Meta. That's why we always recommend verifying the business first, and choosing Option A whenever possible.

It's exclusively Meta's decision, not WeSpeak's, but there are 4 technical requirements to meet before applying: (1) business verified with Meta, (2) display name approved by Meta, (3) more than 30 days operating on Cloud API, (4) two-factor authentication active on the business number. We guide you through preparing the application.

Yes. Messages use WhatsApp's encryption and the connection runs on Meta's official infrastructure — no unofficial intermediaries along the way. Your history and guest data live in your WeSpeak account, under your control.

Because it turns WhatsApp into a stable, measurable, and secure sales and service channel, ideal for hotels that want to grow without losing control.

Your sales channel,
now more solid.

Stable, official, and backed by Meta. Your day to day in WeSpeak stays intact — only the technology underneath changes. More stability, more capabilities, same team, and same history.
