Forbes Argentina and Global Tourism at Record Highs
WeSpeak in Forbes Argentina: 700 hotels, 20 countries, 600,000 messages per month, 8x growth. And global tourism breaks records in 2025, surpassing 2019 levels.
Two pieces of news to end the year with energy.
WeSpeak in Forbes Argentina
Forbes Argentina published a feature on WeSpeak this week. The numbers they highlighted:
- 700 hotels on the platform
- 20 countries
- 600,000 messages processed per month
- 8x growth with no external investment
What makes me happiest about that last number: we grew 8 times on the business's own revenue, without venture capital. That speaks to a model that works, not one that burns money to grow.
Global tourism breaks records in 2025
UN Tourism published its preliminary data for 2025:
- +5% global growth in international tourism
- 1.1 billion international travelers in the first nine months of the year
- Surpassed pre-pandemic 2019 levels for the first time
For hotels, this is critical context: the demand is there. The question is whether your hotel is capturing the share it deserves or whether the OTAs and the competition are capturing it.
Technological heritage: an inspiring example
Curious fact of the week: a project called TimeTraveler NYC, in collaboration with Columbia University, is using AI to reconstruct what New York looked like in the past through more than 80,000 digitized historical photos.
Technology as a tool for memory. A reminder that AI isn't only for selling more. It also serves to preserve who we are.
